Just a short comment on the weather: It. is. cloudy. with. some. rain.
At 8 am we left our Homestay to visit My Son. We just booked the transport but the guide was surprisingly included. Nevertheless we left „our „group – the blue Group 😉 – very quick. Our guide was a no needed little entertainer and the guy guiding the TIGER group was more informative. But after a couple of minutes we seperated from all groups to be alone within the ancient place. Hard work. Just a few square meters of My Son can be visited and are crowded by groups of tourists. Most of them are just shooting selfies and noising around. So if you are more interested in silence, walking through an ancient place and feeling its spirit … avoid coming with groups. The area is very nice. You can rent a motor bike and it takes you around one hour from Hoi An to get there. If its worth to go there is not easy to answer. We already saw Angkor Wat in Cambodia before and spend 3 days to discover parts of it. For My Son we needed 3 hrs by slowly walking around.
Another restaurant we can warmly recommend is: Orivy Restaurant – we had some great shrimp menues and very tasty Vietnamese Desserts 🙂
