Wow – I could sleep until 8 am. Holiday feeling 😉 After the breakfast we rented a motorbike at the hotel reception. The tank was completely empty so we spend 90.000 Dong to fill it. It was a funny ride to the Imperial city. The traffic in Asia has its own rules. The two most important are:
1. Move. Don’t stop. A moving person or vehicle can better be estimated in which direction it will continue to walk /drive.
2. blow the horn if you overtake another driver. So the driver in front of you knows that he will be passed by and will therefore not turn left or right in that moment.
The Imperial City is a great place to visit. Don’t miss the video animation it explains very good the old buildings and the former life within the city. You can easily spend 3-4 hours inside. At 2 pm we started to discover some of the old tombs. We found a few of them but to our greatest surprise we saw two elephants.
At 5 pm we met with Sonja from Denmark and had a very nice and intersting evenig at the restaurant La Caramboule. One common topic was New Zealand 🙂
